Take out your outlines. Ms. Batten walks around class and checks over them. Extra credit is given to the students who did it on time. Those students who did not do it can work on it later in class or over the break.

Mistake correction-wksht distributed to all students. If absent, they were placed inside of your portfolio for you.

With your group identify the common mistake each item, beneath a letter, has in common. Read the directions at the top of the page carefully. You will use each word from the bank once.

After finished, have Ms. Batten verify you have all of the mistakes correctly identified. Then turn it in for credit.

Then the assignment will be returned to you if you are interested in correcting it using proofreading marks, for extra credit.

After finished with group work, work on your rough draft.

Editing sheet- Reviewed in detail with the class. It doesn't matter who reviews your paper, as long as they do a thorough job.

Two Worlds In One- Group Assignment
  1. Read individually (p 51-61) and * possible level 1, 2, or 3 questions. In class, groups jigsaw the story into parts, and read a selection of the text. Then the group members meet together to share.
  2. Meet as a group and come up with 6-level one questions, 6-level two questions, and 2-level three questions (They have to be specific)
  3. Draw 4 scenes (see p 48 for detailed directions). Two scenes have to be of Sundara at home and two have to be her at school. Leave space between each scene for transitions from one scene to the next. Put drawings in a strip/sequence and add transitions that connect the scenes. (examples provided to view)
  4. Complete chart as a group. All of you should check it for completion. On chart, put Nar0 instead of Nona, and add Pon to the bottom of the chart.

Digital Cameras needed- warning was given on 2 separate class dates.

Using the digital camera, and the scavenger hunt sheet, take pictures around the school. Use all of the techniques, camera positions, angles, and camera movements listed on the sheet. Once each type of picture is taken, check it off. You are allowed to take pictures using multiple techniques. Use your journal notes to help, and be able to explain each picture you take. Do not take pictures in classes, without first asking teachers in a non-disruptive, polite way. Be sure to bring your camera back to class on the next class day, so this assignment can be graded. (For extra credit students can also print the photos they take or copy them to a CD). you may want to take two pictures of each item below, to be sure you've fulfilled the requirements of this assignment.

For example, a dolly shot was used in "I am Legend" when Will Smith's character is racing his car through New York City. List a minimum of one example for each camera position, angle, and movement. Inspiration homework explained once more. Teacher warns staff, they have one more chance to get credit for this homework assignment. It is needed for a spread they are about to complete on themselves, and without the inspiration, they will not be able to complete the assignment.

A) Faculty Info. Sheets: explained again; staff members are to turn the sheets into Brandi when they are finished with them
B)Report info. from faculty members: Students were supposed to report on what they learned from their faculty members on this day, however, only a couple of students had things to share. Teacher warns class that next Monday, they MUST have spoken with each of their faculty members (7 maximum). They will go to each faculty member and ask if they know of anything we should take pictures of or if they have any ideas of what we should feature in the book. They MUST do this weekly and report back to staff meetings on Monday. Next Monday, it will be a grade.
C)Ads Test-Coming Soon. There will be a test on the information in the ad manual. It will most likely be after Homecoming, but it would be wise to start studying now. You must be able to have responses to common objections.
